Overview

ROS2 Mobile is a mobile application for controlling and monitoring ROS 2 robots over a local Wi-Fi network. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Data Collection

We collect no personal data. The app does not require an account, does not ask for personal information, and does not transmit any data to external servers.

Local Storage

The app stores the following data locally on your device only:

Saved connections — robot IP addresses and port numbers you have connected to, for quick reconnection.
Layout preferences — your widget layout configurations for each robot.
Onboarding state — whether you have completed the setup guide or used the demo mode.

This data never leaves your device. It can be cleared by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings.

Network Communication

ROS2 Mobile communicates exclusively over your local Wi-Fi network with ROS 2 robots using standard robotics protocols:

Rosbridge WebSocket protocol
Foxglove WebSocket protocol
HTTP for MJPEG camera streams

All communication is local. No data is sent to the internet. The app connects only to addresses you explicitly provide.

Analytics & Tracking

ROS2 Mobile does not include any analytics, tracking, advertising, or telemetry frameworks. No usage data is collected.

Third-Party Services

The app does not integrate with any third-party services that collect data.

Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

If we update this policy, the changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
